I drilled the pitot and mount, then tapped the holes and put in some screws. I guess I could countersink the pitot mast, but the curviness would make this hard. I doubt if 4 small screw heads will slow me down by much.
UPDATE: There was a recall on the gold anodized mounts, so I replaced it with a blue anodized version with better weld penetration on the mounting flange. I did end up using some countersunk screws on that one.
