The replacement VP-X box has arrived, so I went back under the panel and extracted the loaner unit. Then back under to install the new unit. After programming the unit, I tested all of the circuits. Hopefully, this unit will not fail! I have to say, I love the product and the simplicity of the wiring and installation. The only downside is having to pull the whole box if something goes wrong.
