Time to deal with the leaky nose seal on the crankshaft. I took off the prop, then using a pick with a 90 degree end was able to break the sealant and pull it out of the engine case. I cut the seal to remove it then spent quite a bit of time getting all of the sealant cleaned off the case. The shaft is still nice and smooth, and the thrust bearing passes the test indicated by Lycoming of having over .002 clearance between the case and the oil slinger lip on the crankshaft.
