I cut these tension rods to size, then ran a die on the ends to create threads. Doing the threading was a major pain. Hard to keep the rod from spinning while cutting the threads. Trick is to use lots of cutting oil, and make lots of rotations back and forth and only go about 1/12 of the way around (like points on a clock) at each rotation. The plastic tubing is really tight and you have to thread it on. Best to do this before you start bending the ends, as I learned.
